[Openspace] opening my shape file

I don't think it's a memory problem, just a data conversion problem.  I have data sets in the millions, and don't have these problems.

If you have an Arc/Info license, I would rebuild the dataset once you get it converted.  And, see my message to Debra - when in doubt, use the internal ID to create a new unique identifier.
