Question: Why do I receive the following error when installing GeoDa?

"Msvcirt.dll is linked to missing export msvcrt.dll"

      Possible
Cause: Geoda's intallation cannot find the correct version of the msvcirt.dll file. Another program may have installed a different version of the file, or the file may be damaged.

Answer: Important: Please note, there are two files involved in this error message with very similar names. The solution below asks you to rename the file msvcirt.dll. DO NOT RENAME MSVCRT.DLL to resolve this error; this file is used by the Microsoft® Windows® operating system, and renaming it may prevent your computer from starting and operating properly.

      To resolve this error message:

1.. In Windows, search your computer locate all copies of msvcirt.dll.
2.. Rename each instance of msvcirt.dll (to msvcirt.OLD, for example).
        3.. Reinstall Geoda
4.. Restart your computer, before you run Geoda,
